Aufgabenstellung:

All tasks are to be attempted.

Task 1: Reading comprehension, writing a summary and follow-up task. (40%)

a. Write a summary of the article „US students say no to summer jobs" (150 words)

b. Write about your own placements in industry. Write about the companies you worked at, your duties and the work-experience you gainedl (250 words)

Task 2: Essay writing (35%)

„Many overseas student workers now come from the Czech Republic and even Africa, where the American dream is still just that ..."
Write an essay on the American dream. (400 words)

Task 3: Writing a job application and a curriculum vitae. (25%)

Imagine you have finished your course at the higher technical school. You are now looking a job in electronic engineering. You are  interested in working abroad, so you send off job applications to a number of companies. Write the application letter and a CV. Use  the blank sheet of paper provided for your CV.
